All the tweets in the Sunanda Pushkar, Mehr Tarar Saga

Nothing gets social media more excited than a good scandal. And when the scandal unfolds on social media itself, well that's just icing on an already delicious cake. So when it was revealed that the frankly bizarre tweets on Shashi Tharoor's timeline yesterday, which broadcast clearly personal tweets he had received from Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar (@mehrtarar I love you, Shashi Tharoor. And I go while in love with you, irrevocably, irreversibly, hamesha. Bleeding, but always your Mehr) had been sent by his wife Sunanda Pushkar, Twitter metaphorically lost its mind.

The tweets on Tharoor's Timeline have been deleted, but screen grabs are still doing the rounds on Twitter. Since then, Pushkar has admitted that it was she who sent out the tweets, and Tarar has responded saying that Pushkar is 'out of her mind'.

Mehr Tarar has since gone on a bit of a rampage. Here are the tweets: Have just been approached by an Indian ch 2 respond. Said what I had to. I'm not falling to pieces. I'm more lucid than ever. How little I knew you became visible to me.@mehrtarar You unfollowed me. You don't RT me and you don't answer me on twitter. I can live with your favourites. I have your personal validation have your personal validation of my words, I don't need any public one.

For that I will wait until we are together publically really mehr Pushkar's statement to Economic Times: "Our accounts have not been hacked and I have been sending out these tweets. I cannot tolerate this. This is a Pakistani woman who is an ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) agent, and she is stalking my husband. And you know how men are. He is flattered by the attention. I took upon myself the crimes of this man during IPL (Indian Premier League). I will not allow this to be done to me. I just can't tolerate this. I have nothing more to say," she said, speaking on the phone.

The `50-cr girlfriend

Sunanda Pushkar was an Indian business woman and wife of Minister of State for HRD Shashi Tharoor. Pushkar belonged to a family of landlords and Army officers from Bomai, 8 km from Sopore in the Kashmir Valley.

She was sales director in a Dubai-based real estate company Tecom. In April 2010, she voluntarily relinquished a stake in the Kochi IPL team estimated at Rs 70 crore. She had a son in her first marriage. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had described Sunanda Pushkar a Rs 50-crore girlfriend. Modi had referred to her links with the IPL.

Tharoor had posted his reaction on micro-blogging site Twitter. He said Modi needed to be able to love someone to understand the sentiment. "My wife is worth a lot more than your imaginary 50 crore. She is priceless. But you need2be able2love some1 2understand that," Tharoor tweeted.
