Publicise achievements, Rahul tells partymen, Assembly, Parliament polls in the State, Rahul Gandhi. In his interactions, Rahul Gandhi heard the concerns of the workers gathered, and focused on energizing them for the battle ahead.

New Delhi: Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday called upon the Congress leaders from Andhra Pradesh to publicize the achievements of the Congress-led UPA Government, in the run up to the crucial simultaneous Assembly and Parliament polls in the State. After galvanizing party workers with his rousing speech at the AICC Session, Rahul Gandhi met with AICC members from different States in small groups throughout the day.

In his interactions, Rahul Gandhi heard the concerns of the workers gathered, and focused on energizing them for the battle ahead. He called on them to take on issues that affect the people in their states and fight for them vociferously. Setting the tone for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections he said “We must fight with unity, focusing on the strengths of our Party and the good work we have done over the last 10 years”.

A day after the AICC Session, Rahul Gandhi met the Congress leaders State-wise. Andhra Pradesh Congress leaders were the first to meet him at the AICC headquarters in the Capital. Among those, who met Rahul Gandhi were Union Ministers J D Seelam and Sarvey Satyanarayana, former APCC President V Hanumanth Rao, Andhra Pradesh Minister J Geetha Reddy, MPs, DCC Presidents and AICC delegates from Andhra Pradesh. Among those, who spoke at the meeting were Obaidullah Kotwal, Majji Sarada and Madasu Gangadhar.

The Andhra Pradesh Congress leaders praised Rahul Gandhi for his fiery and impressive speech at the AICC Session. They pleaded with Rahul Gandhi to widen the base of for ticket-distribution in the upcoming polls.Meanwhile, Senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Randip Surjewala were made members of the Congress Election Coordination Committee headed by Rahul Gandhi. A former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Azad has earlier been a party general secretary who has handled its affairs in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Scindia was the head of the party's campaign committee for the recent Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls. Surjewala is a minister in Haryana.
