A top army official said that the operation had already launched in Sonitpur district alone along Arunachal Pradesh border and Kokrajhar district along with Bhutan border.
Indian army, central paramilitary forces and Assam police had launched the offensive operation against the Bodo militants.
"This is a time bound operation against the NFFB(S) militants. In first phase 66 units of army, 20 companies of Central paramilitary forces and Assam police personnel had jointly launched the operation, " a top army official said.
On Thursday, Union Home minister Rajnath Singh said that, no talks with any organization like NFFB(S) who brutally killed children, women and innocent people.
The Bodo militant group killed at least 80 adivasi people in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur district.
On other hand several vehicles were damaged by protesters during the 12 hours long Assam bandh on Friday called by various orhanisations including ATTSA, Asom Yuba Parishad protest against the killings of innocent people in the state.
The protesters rail blockade at Kaliabor, Amoni, Nagaon, Bongaigaon, Sivsagar and blockade national highways in several places in the state.
Police arrested more than 300 protesters across the state.
