Bengaluru: Suspecting CID officials of deleting the CCTV footage recorded in the digital video recorder (DVR) installed in IAS officer DK Ravi’s house, his father-in-law Hanumantharayappa said that if the footage of March 15 was available, they could have found Ravi shouting at someone over phone.

Speaking to the media at his house in Mallathalli on Tuesday, he also expressed shock on finding the footage recorded before 10.30 am on March 16 deleted.

Narrating the entire scenario after DK Ravi’s death, Hanumantharayappa said that a CID team led by SP Kumaraswamy came to his house on March 18, two days after the death of the IAS officer and took the DVR with them as a process of investigation. However, on returning the DVR, he was shocked to find the footage deleted.

Hanumantharayappa said that with four CCTV cameras installed in the house, 20 days of footage can be saved which is why he suspects the CID officials behind the footage getting deleted. Nevertheless, Hanumantharayappa intends to retrieve the files and inform the CBI of the incident.

Meanwhile, the CID officials have stopped their investigation into the case of mysterious death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi as the state government handed over the case to the CBI.
