Security has been beefed up at the residence of Supreme Court Justice Dipak Misra after he received an anonymous threat letter.

As per reports, the threat letter said, "irrespective of the protection you may avail, we will eliminate you."

Justice Misra was part of the three-judge Supreme Court bench, which had dismissed the mercy plea and delivered the final order on 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon.

Yakub was hanged at the Nagpur Central jail on July 30.

In an unprecedented move, the three-judge bench of the apex court presided over a fresh hearing of the case throughout the intervening night of July 29 and 30 before dismissing the final appeal for mercy by Yakub, the only person to be sentenced to death for the series of bombings in Mumbai.

Yakub was convicted for being the "driving spirit" behind the blasts that killed at least 257 people at separate landmarks in the financial capital, including the Bombay Stock Exchange and two crowded markets.
