Indisputably, a disappointing budget 2016 was presented by Mr. Arun Jaitley. He presented the US budget and not Indian one. The Modi’s government forgot the common-middle class Indian families. Mr. Jaitley should know that every body is not rich here in India. Tax slabs have remained unchanged that need to be changed if not middle class people will keep facing difficulties in handling their families or to live in the society. We hope that before elections, Modi’s government will think of poor and middle class life but now he collapsed the hopes.

The government must think of improving common people’s livelihoods. Our groaning farmers and common people have gained nothing in this budget. Budget should be formed keeping the common people in mind and the expenses faced by them should reduce. Has the Modi’s government been working in the service of the people? The answer is ‘Big No”. Mr. Jaitley even didn’t put forward any latest status for the 7th pay commission. He only expressed that both the 7th CPC and OROP will put extreme burden on the next financial year.

More, no defence budget was mentioned however the financial account added that the capital account expenditure on defence has been trimmed down this year to Rs 86,340 crore from Rs 94,588 crore budgeted for 2015-16 last year. Mr. Jaitley has not placed more money in the common man's pocket.

Frankly, how much money do we need for birthday celebrations? As we all know both Guru Gobind Singh and Deen Dayal Upadhyay are well-respected and key figure in Indian history but they never said that the government should spend over hundred crores on their birthday. I firmly believe that their birthday anniversaries are one of the major occasions in India but with Rs. 100 crores each? Futilely, the finance minister yet again allocated a whopping Rs. 200 crores to celebrate birthdays of the so-called historical figures. Over 900 million people don’t have sufficient food to eat in India where Rs. 200 crores is going to be spent on Birth anniversaries. How strange our government is!

Middle class people were intensely looking forward to in the General Budget 2016---they expected the tax limit to be increased but it remain unchanged. They also anticipated that the allowances exempted from tax are to be increased. Common people also expected that education allowance also notices an ascending revision from Rs 100 per month per child. They also expected to watch Mr. Jaitley’s budget on provisions respecting smoother scrutiny assessments and speedier tax refunds.
