New Delhi: A resident of Rana Gaon under Gonda police station in Aligarh District of Uttar Pradesh has claimed that a Panchayat poll candidate allegedly beat him up mercilessly on March 15 for not voting for him.

A case has been registered at the Gonda police station under sections 323, 504, 336 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code.

The victim claimed that the accused, who lost the polls, beat him black and blue on March 15 as he refused to vote for him in the elections, which took place two months back.

Accused Chatrapal Singh is the younger brother of local goon Chob Singh.

According to the victim, he had worked for Chatrapal, but had not been paid; so, when the accused asked him to vote in his favour, he denied. And, when the accused came face to face with the victim on March 15 he beat in a feat of anger, the victim alleged.

Aligarh Superintendent of Police (Rural) Brajesh Kumar Singh said actions will be taken against the accused once the medicals report of the victim are received. He said the matter would be investigated accordingly.
