A special Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) court in Mumbai on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to main accused Muzammil Ansari in the Mumbai multiple blasts case, while the rest accused were given a ten-year jail term.

Mumbai: A special Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) court in Mumbai on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to main accused Muzammil Ansari in the Mumbai multiple blasts case, while the rest accused were given a ten-year jail term.

Three accused, who were given ten years' sentence, will have to undergo two more years in jail as they have already completed eight years of imprisonment.

Accused Wahid Ansari and Farhan Khot were also awarded life imprisonment in the 2002-2003 bomb blasts case.

On March 29, the court convicted ten out of 13 accused in this case.

Those convicted include Saquib Nachan, Ateef Mulla, Hasib Mulla, Ghulam Kotal, Mohammed Kamil, Noor Malik, Anwar Ali Khan, Farhaan Khot, Dr Wahid Ansari and Muzammil Ansari.
