The operation was launched on Tuesday morning when soldiers along the LoC intercepted a heavily armed militant group.

One terrorist and a soldier were killed in the encounter, while as many as four army jawans were injured yesterday.

Soldiers of 56 Rashtriya Rifles, who were manning the LoC, intercepted a militant group at Katwara forest area near Jet Gali in Machil sector earlier on Tuesday.

After being challenged, the suspected militants opened fire on the forces, triggering off an encounter.
