Yogesh Master, the author of a controversial Kannada novel 'Dundhi', was yesterday attacked by unidentified persons, who smeared his face with black oil. According to India Today, he was reportedly warned not to write against Hindu gods.

The incident took place when the author was having tea after attending a literature program.

It is being said that some right wing organisation could be behind the incident.

The police has registered a complaint and is investigating the matter.

No arrest has been made so far.
