Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): Actor Kamal Hassan on Thursday hinted at joining the Left.

Post holding talks with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Hassan asserted that he has essayed many colours over his forty-year-long acting career, but saffron was not one of them.

"My colour is obviously seen over the 40 years I have been working in cinema, definitely it's not saffron," Hassan said.

"Have been talking to the Kerala Chief Minister about it, taking advice, will meet more politicians before I take a call," he added.

"Averring that his participation in politics will be active and serious, Hassan said, "I want to be in the middle of things, not leaning to any side."

Haasan met Vijayan over lunch at the latter's official residence, the Cliff House, in Thiruvananthapuram.

Reportedly when asked by reporters if they had discussed politics, Kamal unhesitatingly replied, "For sure".

However, the Chief Minister's office termed the visit a "friendly" one.
