Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will raise several issues pertaining to the state when he meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday in New Delhi. The Prime Minister gave him the audience at 12.30 pm. KCR will be leaving for Delhi on Thursday.
The Chief Minister is expected to return to Hyderabad on Sunday after attending the meeting of the governing council of NITI-Aayog at Delhi on June 17. However, the CM will take a decision whether to attend the meeting or not after his meeting with the Prime Minister, sources said.
In his meeting with the Prime Minister, KCR will apprise him of the long-pending issues mainly the increase of quota for the Muslims and Scheduled Tribes in education and employment, Tribal and Horticulture Universities, division of assets between AP and Telangana and other promises made in the AP State Reorganization Act, 2014.
KCR will also seek the Prime Minister’s help to get the Presidential nod to the reorganization of the zonal system in Telangana. The CM has been waiting to have one-on-one meeting with Modi for the past four months but could get time only now.
The CM will seek funds for Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha and Kaleshwaram project. The state government has already sought Rs 40,000 crore for the completion of the flagship schemes and Rs 10,000 crore for the Kaleshwaram project from the Centre.
Official sources said KCR will also explain Modi the recently-launched Rythu Bandhu scheme and farmers’ insurance scheme launched by his government and the immense response from the farming community to the schemes.
Modi is keen to acquaint himself with the knowledge on the newly-launched Telangana government’s schemes, official sources said.
