bharatiKavali: The three day Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign organized at the ABM Grounds in the town, concluded on Tuesday. Rami Reddy, Additional Joint Collector, Nellore District, participated as chief guest in the concluding ceremony. ICDS workers, SHG members and students from local schools attended the programme in large numbers. Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Joint Collector expressed his gratefulness to Government of India for holding Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign in the town. He opined that the Government schemes would be 100 per cent successful only when public understand the schemes and avail them directly without intermediaries or middlemen. He also expressed the hope that the present campaign would help public to a great extent to utilize the welfare schemes in a better way. M Malakonda Reddy, Member, Lok Adalat, in his address, explained in detail the salient features of Right to Information Act (RTI) 2005. EVS Naidu, Chairman of Nellore District Voluntary Organisations, said that government has been implementing various schemes and programmes for BPL families to alleviate poverty by 2015. Later, the Additional Joint Collector gave away prizes to babies in the age group of 0-1 year and 1-3 years participated in Well Baby Show conducted by the Directorate of Field Publicity in coordination with ICDS. He also distributed mementoes to all the participating departments which set up their stalls at the PIB exhibition. Earlier, P Bharatha Lakshmi, C&MO, PIB, Vijayawada, welcoming the gathering, thanked the District Collector and other district officials for extending their help and cooperation in organizing the programme at Kavali successfully. B Taraka Prasad, Field Publicity Officer, Ratnakar, Assistant Director, PIB, Koteswara Rao, ED, BC Corporation, Somaiah, ED, SC Corporation, Joint Director, Animal Husbandry, Vijayalakshmi, CDPO, ICDS and other district officials participated in the valedictory function.
