annamNellore: Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy reiterated that Congress Government is committed for the welfare of the poor. He launched the 'Amma Hastham' scheme and participated in a public meet at Chillakuru in the district on Wednesday. Speaking at the programme, Anam said that Government is implementing various welfare schemes for the development of SCs and STs. The Minister said that SCs and STs households would be provided free electricity up to 50 units. "Government will provide an aid of Rs 1 lakh for SCs and 1.10 lakh for STs for the construction of houses," said Anam. Earlier, the Minister visited various villages in Chillakur mandal and inaugurated drinking water supply project constructed with Rs 20 lakh and handed over land documents to 54 tribals at Nakkalavari Kandriga. He also laid foundation stones for Lingavaram-Narrvaripalem road taken up with an expenditure of Rs 3.5 crore, Primary Health Centre in Varagali and other works.
Anam finds fault with opposition
State Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy has been campaigning extensively in the district for the past three days. He inaugurated the Amma Hastam programme at Venkatagiri and many other places. The Minister spoke at several public meetings held in Varagali, Rettapalli and Chillakur constituencies. He said that the State government has been implementing various schemes for the welfare of the people, but the opposition parties were making baseless allegations on the government, which would only reflect on their ignorance. Gudur town Congress party in-charge Panabaka Krishnaiah said that the opposition parties were trying to obstruct the welfare schemes of the Congress government. The Congress government is striving to ensure that the welfare schemes reach the poor, he said. District Joint Collector Lakshmikantham, MLC Vakati Narayana Reddy, senior Congress leader CV Sesha Reddy and others were present.
