The Integrated Household Survey scheduled to be undertaken on August 19, simultaneously at all places in Telangana, is going to be very important as far as the implementation of welfare schemes in the state is concerned. Already KCR has been actively involved in a two day training programme for the ibid survey. The fate of the families and the decision on their eligibility for the many welfare schemes of the Telangana government will be more or less linked to the survey.

Integrated Household Survey

The Chief Minister of Telangana KCR has stated at all possible occasions that the number of ration cards held by the families is more than the actual number of families in the state. Yes, surely there is a need to curb corruption from the grassroots level, at this juncture. So far, no ruling party ever tried to cancel the ration cards, for such an action is ultimately linked to their fate in the elections. Yet, somebody has to bell the cat some or other time - else there is a threat imposed to the endurance of the system.

In such a system wherein the welfare measures intended for the deserving community of people get misused and the mediators get benefitted, the existence of the system becomes difficult over a period of time. So, there is a definite need for cutting back the corruption. Yes, it’s the nature of the opposition parties, in general, to disparage the ruling government at all possible occasions. But, in order to take a proper step, the ruling government needs to have guts. And if the government comes forward boldly for the same, all the stakeholders involved in the matter should be honest enough so that the very purpose intended by such an action should get desired results.

Both the government and private organizations are instructed to close on August 19 to make certain the availability of all people at their residences to undertake the survey. Also, the employees including the police (in civil dress) will be involved in the survey so that no single employee feels over burdened. If everything goes well, the desired results will surely reflect their impact, certainly!!
