The moment someone gets possession of a luxury racing car, a posh vehicle or even a sports bikes or a bullet, they can't resist the temptation of zooming past everyone at breakneck speed on ring roads and highways in cities. Racing culture and need for speed is claiming the lives of many youngsters and also many celebrities and Netas. Sometimes in their enthusiasm to reach the destination quickly, commuters often break rules resulting in injuries either to them or to other innocents.

Even though traffic authorities insist on wearing seat belts or helmets, many of them ignore on the pretext that it is time consuming or results in bald head. One wonders if a few seconds delay or bald head is more precious than their own lives. This shows utter disrespect to rules putting their safety at stake.
Some of the leaders and celebrities who lost their lives to speed and road mishap include YSRCP leader Sobha Nagireddy, TDP leaders Lal Jaan Basha, YerranNaidu, Former Minister Komati reddy Venkat Reddy's son Pratik Reddy, Actor Kota Srinivasa Rao's son Kota Venkata Prasad, actor Babu Mohan's son P.Pawan Kumar, cricketer Md.Azharuddin's son MD.Ayazuddin and now Nandamuri Harikrishna's son Nandamuri Janakri Ram. Many ordinary citizens too lost their lives due to their negligence, callous attitude and craze for speed. It's time that better sense prevails upon people before it is too late.
