The ever laughing dadi on ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, Ali Asgar is a self confessed cricket fan and doesn’t like to misssingle opportunity to meet cricketers whether Indian or from other countries. With cricketers too making it as guests on his show, Ali has a field day meeting them on stage and in the green room in his regular avatar too.

“Cricketers coming in as guests on the show is the best time for me since I love cricket and I get to spend good amount time with them. It is also nice to see that they know about me too before coming on the show and we have a gala time interacting. I never like to miss my shoots when we have cricketers coming in,” Ali shares.
Ali has in fact made a collage of his pix with various cricketers on his set and posted on a social networking site and after the results in the evening went on to post ‘Success is not final. Failure is not fatal… it is the courage to continue that counts… 2019 World Cup.’ Karan Wahi, the boy next door with chocolate looks is a mean cricketer and is a huge fan of the game. If not an actor, Karan many times said that he would have become a cricketer. Coming from Delhi, as a young lad Karan was passionate about the game, and even played for the Delhi team till acting happened by chance. He came down to Mumbai to do TV series ‘Remix’.
However, he continues to be in touch with the game as he plays for various teams with his co-stars. Watching the semi-finals he was regularly updating his support and was all with team blue as he posted a pic of the dark blue sky saying ‘View from my house… Aftr what happened in SYDNEY today even the gods bleed blue… wat u guys did will b special… hard luck guys… people b proud nt bash’ (sic). Manav Gohil, the cute, dimpled Yam in ‘Yam Hai Hum’, is another big time cricket buff.
Originally from Vadodara, this management trainee would have joined the defence service or become a cricketer. However, they were just dreams as Manav went on to become an actor after getting into modeling. The will to play the sport he stays fit whenever he is playing for charity matches or representing Indian TV stars cricket teams.
A level headed person, Manav has also donned the role of captain in many matches leading his team to victory. Shabbir Ahluwalia, Sharad Kelkar, Varun Badola, Indraneil Sengupta and Amit Behl are some of the other veteran actors who play the game with passion while riding the waves of success in their careers as well.
They are amongst the lot who find time from their busy schedules to not only watch the game, keep a track of what’s going on in cricket but are game for picking up the bat and leading their teams to win in the many matches that they play. And while talking about cricket and Indian Television actors who can forget the sauve Salil Ankola who has done the reverse act. The dashing Indian international cricketer feels that he was destined to be an actor and has had a successful run in both his careers. However, with acting becoming his priority Salil focussed on playing cricket with co-actors and keep his passion alive.
