Why Gandhari Could Not Fully Insulate Duryodhana?. Why Gandhari, the wife of Dhritarashtra with all her supernatural powers could not completely insulate her son Duryodhana and make him immortal?

Lesson from the acquittal of Amma J Jayalalithaa

Why Gandhari, the wife of Dhritarashtra with all her supernatural powers could not completely insulate her son Duryodhana and make him immortal?

If she had insulated Duryodhana fully, Duryodhana would not have been killed by Bhima. While Gandhari transforming the body of Duryodhana to immortality through visual means Gandhari wanted her son to appear before her without any dress. But Duryodhana covered some parts of his body and hence those portions become his Achilles heels. Only once she could use her power. By the time she ‘used up’ her power, it left some parts the body of Duryodhana vulnerable.

Knowing full well the above secret of Duryodhana, Krishna advised Bhima to attack the Achilles heels of Duryodhana and thus Bhima killed him.

What moral message the above incident in Mahabharat conveys to our political class? Adharma, evil forces and demons cannot gain complete insulation or protection, even from God.

The political opponents of Amma J Jayalalithaa hatched plots after plots & spread incredible smear campaign against her and worked day and night to create all sorts of legally tenable evidences against her to prove her sinner and corrupt. They tried their best to ensure that no legal luminary on earth can save her from such abundant evidences they have created against her.

It was like the power of Gandhari. Gandhari was indeed a noble woman and due to her devotion, she had acquired enormous super natural powers. She really wants to make her son Duryodhana immortal with her power. But justice and truth never allowed such thing to happen because injustice and dishonesty should not be allowed to flourish.

The same way, the opponents although hoped a lot on the evidences they have created against Amma J Jayalalithaa, natural justice and truth are always above every human creation, imagination and wishes.

If Duryodhana become deathless because of Gandhari’s power and Amma J Jayalalithaa being punished due to the false evidences created against her, what would happen to ‘Dharma’, honesty and natural justice.

In Mahabharat, there was a Krishna who ensured that the power of Gandhari does not favour Duryodhana, the evil force. In Amma J Jayalalithaa’s acquittal also, perhaps the same Lord Krishna would have incarnated to protect and safeguard truth and dharma.
