creditNizamabad: Collector Christina Z Chongthu here on Tuesday released Nizamabad district annual credit plan for the year 2013-2014 with an estimated outlay of Rs 3,764 crore as against Rs 3,273 crore last year registering an increase of 15 per cent in the budget. Speaking at the district-level bankers meet, she said that a quantum of 491 crore was increased in the credit plan to provide loans to various priority sectors. "An amount of Rs 3,111 crore was earmarked to agriculture and allied sectors that included Rs 190 crore for small scale industries in rural areas, Rs 230 crore for service sector and Rs 233 crore for non-priority sector. A total of Rs 1921 crore was allocated for providing crop loans to farmers for the financial year,'' she explained. She directed the officials to conduct awareness meetings for farmers about crop loans across the district in April and May. The Collector urged the bankers to extend financial assistance to needy farmers prior to the beginning of Kharif and Rabi seasons to help them overcome financial difficulties in sowing crops. State Bank of India AGM Suryaprakash, Andhra Bank AGM DSN Murthy, IKP Project Director Venkatesam and others were present.
