ServiceMax 50K Challenge. ServiceMax, innovators in the industry of field service come to the aid of the underprivileged children at Lovedale Foundation.
Bringing back smiles at Lovedale Foundation
February 2015: ServiceMax, innovators in the industry of field service come to the aid of the underprivileged children at Lovedale Foundation. ServiceMax is a company that believes in giving back to the community and considers it an important part of their core values. Philanthropic activities both in US and India on a quarterly basis are integral to the ServiceMax culture.
The event 50K Challenge was conducted to resume the daily milk campaign for the children at Lovedale, which was paused due to lack of financial support. The ServiceMax team in Bangalore came up with the fundraising idea of running the 50K challenge campaign to raise money to provide daily nutrition for all the 350 kids for a whole year. The team in both Bangalore and Pleasanton (US) successfully raised more than 50K and ServiceMax matched rupee to rupee. With this they were able to collect an amount of 1.2 Lakhs successfully. The event was led by SVP of Engineering, Vivian Wong along with her US and India leadership team.
This quarterly initiative of giving back to the community was marked by the dedicated ServiceMax employees meeting the members and children of Lovedale Foundation, and handing them with the cheque hence enabling them to continue the required nutrition and education for the children for an entire year. Boonchanh Oupaxay, US Engineering Manager, mentioned that this experience was truly rewarding and humbling for the entire team, including engineers back home from the US who have participated in this fund raising event.
Sivakumar Subbaraman, Bangalore Engineering Manager commented saying that, “I personally feel privileged to be part of this unique initiative of fulfilling the basic nutrition needs of kids of Lovedale. I am extremely proud about our teams contribution towards this cause. Also, look forward to take such contribution to another level in the coming days.”
The event was kicked off with the ServiceMax team building rapport with kids representing the foundation post which the ServiceMax team handed over the cheque to the Lovedale Foundation members. The event was followed by lunch, yummy snacks and gifts for all the children participated in the event.
Addressing the initiative, Vivian Wong, SVP ServiceMax said, “There is nothing more rewarding than seeing happy and healthy children smile. I am thrilled and grateful to our employees for coming together to open their hearts and wallets. This initiative is in line with our continued efforts and contribution for a healthy future for the children at Lovedale. We are delighted to be here today and meet the children of Lovedale Foundation and have the opportunity to spend a great day with them”.
Commenting on the entire initiative, Tony Project Manager Lovedale said, “The entire Lovedale kids are excited about ServiceMax contribution and support. ServiceMax team understood the real need of Lovedale. We appreciate their cultural understanding and attachment with us. Though they promised to raise only 50K the end result is with 1.2 Lakhs which is absolutely stunning. They are one of those who stand by their words. Our hearty thanks to the entire ServiceMax team.”
