Ongole: The Samaikyandra heat is being directed towards Seemandhra ministers in the Union Cabinet for remaining silent over the past 40 days while there is a people’s upsurge against the division of the State. A poster depicting Union ministers from the region, Chiranjeevi, Kavuri Sambasivar Rao, Purandeswari, Panabaka Lakshmi and Chidambaram and Shinde as the real villains in the drama was taken out in a protest rally in the city.
Meanwhile, relay hunger strike camps, protest rallies, road blockades and other forms of protests are continuing all over the district. Nayee Brahmins in Ongole held protests at the Church centre by taking up hair cutting activity. They have offered to join any kind of protest taken up by the local JAC. Students held a novel protest by begging alms in the street.
Nuzvid: School teachers in Nuzvid mandal have taken up house-to-house campaign explaining the harmful effects of division on Seemandhra region. They have called for a two-day Nuzvid bandh on Wednesday and Thursday. NGOs and teachers are continuing their hunger strike camps. Parcel lorry owners have taken out a rally in the town with their lorries.
Students belonging to the local Viswabharati School made a creative clay Ganesh idol in a furious form attacking the separatists, who wanted to the divide the State for their selfish ends. Rickshaw pullers’ rally In Nidadavole town of West Godavari district, rickshaw pullers organised a rally with over 100 rickshaws in the town protesting against the proposal to bifurcate the State and later held a rasta roko on the overbridge.
Meanwhile, hunger strike camps being organized by various groups in different localities in the town are continuing with more and more people joining the hunger strike. Construction workers’ rally Construction workers, including masons, centering workers, carpenters and others took out a huge rally in Ponnur of Guntur district on Tuesday morning in protest against the division of the State. They demanded the ministers in the Union Cabinet to submit their resignations and join the movement. Traffic was disrupted for a while because of the rally.
