The attacks on ladies are still continuing, even after the enforcement of acts like Nirbhaya. At some or other place in India, every day the ladies are victimised in some or other form. There is no progress in the society, even after the honourable Saket court’s recently ordered death sentence to the convicted. A middle aged man in Parigi of Ranga Reddy district threatened to kill a girl and tried to molest her. The young lady rescued herself after a great struggle. According to the victim, a student of SAP College in Vikarabad, hailing from the Lakshmidevipalli village in Parigi mandal was reaching a gate near to the outskirts of her village to catch the bus, as usual at around 9 a.m on Tuesday. She was followed by a man. After walking for a distance, she got some sort of apprehension and tried to run. But, by then the man approached her and forcibly taken her into the nearby farms. After walking for a distance, she got some sort of apprehension and tried to run. But, by then the man approached her and forcibly taken her into the nearby farms. He threatened her with a knife and tried to rape. When the girl resisted strongly, he tried to kill her. By that time, she already sustained injurious on her body and face. Even then the girl fought with him bravely and bit his hand to rescue her. After seeing the few people passing by the way, the accused ran away into nearby Suguna Steel factory. Based on the preliminary inputs given by the victim, the accused is suspected as a worker of the same factory and might be hailing from Bihar. The victim informed the police that the man was in red coloured t-shirt.
When the incident was spread to the family members and other villagers, they rushed to the factory and started an agitation near the factory. They attacked the factory, caused damage to the assets at security room, operating room and weighing machine room. They banged the factory manager Ajay and the staff including the labour hailing from Bihar. The protest continued till 4 p.m on Tuesday. In this incident, a security guard was severely injured while a labour's both legs got fractured. They were rushed in an ambulance to Parigi for treatment.
The DSP of Chevella, Shilpavalli and Tahsildar Bal Raju visited the site of incident. The DSP sought information from the victim and filed a case. The girl was taken to the spot by the villagers, where they found Chunni of the victim. They went back to the factory and demanded justice. The victim was taken to the police station and subsequently sent to the district hospital at Tandur for medical check up. Later, the police checked the CCTV recordings of the factory.
The victim said she would consider the police department is functional only if she gets justice. Many girls follow the same root and if something happen to anyone, who will be held responsible? She questioned the DSP. The victim's mother said though she herself is a physically challenged widow, with a great struggle she has been upbringing her daughter. She demanded for an immediate action.
