Fire services celebrations begin
Kakinada: There is need to create awareness among the public to prevent fire accidents that occur due to human errors, East Godavari District Collector Neetu Prasad stressed here on Sunday. She inaugurated the week-long celebrations of fire control in Kakinada being organised from April 13 to 20 in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, she urged the officials and staff of the Fire Department to create awareness among the public on the precautions to be taken to prevent fire accidents and on the steps to be taken after the accident occurred. Though some accidents are natural, she observed that large-scale human and property loss is taking place due to the fire accidents attributed to human errors. She suggested placing of wall posters, banners and pamphlets at various junctions and for announcement through mikes at populated areas.
She suggested live demo through fire control vehicles on how to prevent fire accidents. She lauded the services of the fire control department during the time cyclones, floods and fire accidents. She stressed the need for more caution during summer and advocated for more awareness among kids about fire accidents. She unveiled pamphlets, banners and wall posters on the precautions to be taken to prevent fire accidents. She flagged off a fire control vehicle with rescue and fire fighting devices.
Additional district fire control officer VV Veerabhadra Rao, assistant district fire control officer VV Ramakrishna and other staff were present.
