The sailing season that began with the successful conduct of Hyderabad Sailing Week will gain further momentum at Hussainsagar Lake when the inaugural Telangana State Open Sailing Regatta-2016 starts on Tuesday.

To be held jointly by Telangana Sailing Association and Yacht Club of Hyderabad, the event that is attracting over 100 sailors from all over the country, will culminate on July 13.
Yacht Club of Hyderabad chief coach Suheim Sheikh told reporters here on Monday that top performers like Laser 4.7 open champion Rishab Nayyar and Laser Radial winner Vishnu Sararvanan will be participating in the open junior championship and open sub-junior championship.
“A redeeming feature of the competitions is that around 30 young home-grown sailors will be vying for honours. They include sailors from State Social Welfare department and nine young girls from the State,” he said.
