Hyderabad: The assemblage of Hyderabad-based players, who are off to Rio presented a picture of complete confidence of a better showing. Sania Mirza along with shuttlers Jwala Gutta, Srikanth Kidambi, Ashwini Ponnappa, P V Sindhu, Manu Attri, B Sumeeth Reddy and athlete Dutee Chand along with chief national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand appeared to be full of energy at a send-off event organised by Premier Badminton League (PBL) franchise Hyderabad Hunters here on Friday.

Rao said, “We want to make Hyderabad a strong contender to host Olympics one day and we are aware of the fact that this cannot be achieved overnight. A gradual and continuous approach is needed to achieve this. We plan to create state-of-the-art infrastructure, develop sporting culture, host national and international sports events and encourage sports personalities by being part of such activities.”

Dr VRK. Rao, Owner, Hyderabad Hunters said “I am proud to be part of this celebration where the young talent representing our country in various disciplines is all set to go and be part of Rio Olympics 2016. I wish them all the very best and I am sure the players will come up with medal winning performances and enhance India’s status”.
