Hyderabad: Multiple award winning Sports NGO, the city-based Sports Coaching Foundation (SCF) added another global feather to its cap with a coveted honour coming its way.
In what comes as a major recognition for its work to make the life of the less and under-privileged lot, more meaningful, the Foundation has been conferred with the International Social Impact Award-2017 in the ‘Outstanding Volunteer Category’ at Bangkok.
The award has been instituted jointly by Resource Alliance (London) and Rockefeller Foundation (USA).Beaming with delight on his return from Thailand after receiving the award, SCF founder-Secretary K Saibaba told reporters here on Saturday that this recognition added to their responsibility, which they would, nonetheless, take up with equal dedication.
He said it was matter of immense satisfaction that the function was graced by senior officials from UNO, who appreciated the work they, and those others who were in contention for the award, were rendering as a societal responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, P Muralikrishna, Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin), praised Saibaba for taking up such a noble task and helping the cause of the downtrodden. He appealed to likeminded people to pursue such initiatives so that the economically deprived classes could afford a smile or two.
Saibaba urged philanthropists to come on board as partners to the SCF initiative ‘Build India through Sports’ in order to tap talent at the grass-root level and those in the interiors who were denied any such platforms.
