Hyderabad: The 28-day Hyderabad Monsoon Racing Season-2018 featuring eleven major events is set to begin on July 16 and runs up to October 29.

This was announced by R Surender Reddy at the Hyderabad Race Club (HRC) here on Thursday.

The major events include The K Mahipathi Rao Memorial Million (August 6), The Governor’s Cup (August 12), The Nizam’s Gold Cup (August 20), The Deccan Fillies Championship Stakes (August 27),

The Deccan Colts Championship Stakes (September 3), The President of India Gold Cup (September 9), The Chief Minister’s Cup (September 14), The Deccan Derby (October 2), The Melbourne Racing Club Trophy (October 15),

The Golconda St Leger (October 22) and The Dodla Pratap Chander Reddy Memorial Million (October 29).

A stake money of Rs 9.89 crore has been kept for this season besides Rs 14.74 lakh for trophies. The offered horse ratio with Rs 1.88 lakh per horse is said to be the highest in the country.

A total of 35 jockeys and 22 trainers will be participating throughout the season with 525 horses from the station.
