Google's photo storage app Google Photos has released a new feature that allows the users to resurface photos and videos from the current calendar date in previous years. According to the Verge, whenever the users open up the app it now surfaces photos and videos taken on that date in years past.

The Google Photos app will now show cards in the 'assistant view' under 'rediscover this day' that will show photos, photo collages or videos. The cards will also tell the users where they were and who they were with on that day. These can then be shared through email or social media, although the photos are kept private until the users choose to share.

It is already available on the web and in the iOS version of Google Photos and is rolling out to Android users as well.
