Hyderabad: Telangana State government, which was sulking due to neglect of the State in the railway and union budgets, has received good news from the Centre on Monday. Union Health Minister Dr Harshavardhan wrote a letter to Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao asking him to identify 200 acres of land, in a single place, for setting up of the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

He suggested KCR identify at least three to four locations which would later be visited by Central delegation to take a final call on that matter. While the Union government will be funding construction and maintenance costs of the super specialty hospital-cum-teaching institute, the State government would ensure basic facilities like roads, electricity and drinking water from its pocket. Soon after receiving the letter, KCR directed senior officials to be on the job of finalising locations suitable for establishing the premier institute.
