Hyderabad: Faced with criticism from various quarters and opposition parties, the TS Government on Friday evening decided to make certain amendments to the guidelines of the day-long survey which would be held on August 19.

The government said that the natives of Telangana who are residing in other States and abroad need not be physically present during household survey. If would be sufficient if their family members produce related documents as a proof to include such persons names in the list, it said.

The State government further pointed out that families that had come to Hyderabad in search of livelihood or for other purposes need not go to their native places for the survey. They could provide required documents to the survey teams staying here itself.

The government had also received complaints from large number of people from the state who are living in places like Surat in Gujarat who said that they were finding it difficult to reach their native places for the survey. The officials stated that this survey had nothing to do with nativity or FAST scheme as was being talked about in few quarters. This is just a socio-economic survey of population of Telangana so that administration could take steps for effective implementation of government schemes in the next five years.
