Ganesh festival commences on a colourful note, Ganesh Navaratri celebrations have started on a colourful note across the district on Friday. This time majority of public have inclined towards clay idols of Lord Ganesh as the academic institutions.
Warangal: Ganesh Navaratri celebrations have started on a colourful note across the district on Friday. This time majority of public have inclined towards clay idols of Lord Ganesh as the academic institutions, student groups and social organizations have conducted camps to use clay Ganesh idols and also distributed them. At Kapil House in Hanamkonda, the celebrations started on a grand note. Kapil Group president U Krishna Mohan, the group executive director M Satyanarayana Rao, senior officials Damodar, Praveen and others have taken part in the celebrations. Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah and MLA D Vinay Bhaskar have attended the celebrations and offered prayers at Sri Rudreshwara Swamy Thousand Pillar Temple, where the temple main priest conducted special poojas.
Urban SP, A Venkateswar Rao visited historical Bhadrakali temple and offered prayers on Saturday. The temple main priest Bhadrakali Sheshu informed on Sunday special prayers would be held marking ‘Surya Shashti’. Marking the Ganesh festival, the Green and Energy Savers Club of Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science in Warangal have distributed clay Ganesh idols to public.
The college principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy, Dean (student affairs) Prof K Sridhar, assistant professor D Prabhakara chary, who took part in the programme, highlighted ill effects of the idols made of plaster of Paris. The club members Sai Spoorty, Navaneeth, Arun, Smruthy, Varsha and Akhil Reddy were involved in the event supported by KUDA and Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
On the other hand, Technozion, the annual technical symposium of National Institute of Technology (NIT) in association with Disha organization, based at Mahabubabad, decided to promote environment awareness by encouraging eco-friendly Ganesh idols.
fete begins on grand note
Karimnagar: The Vinayaka Chavithi festivities began on a grand note in Karimnagar district on Sunday. Main thoroughfares in the town wore busy look with the vehicles carrying Ganesh idols. The idols prices increased as more numbers of pandals were set up this year. The festivities would be celebrated for nine days and the idols will be immersed in tanks on the last day. Ganesh idols were sold at Siva Theatre Road, Reku rthi and Bommaka Tower Circle in the town. The idols sales ran at a brisk pace on Sunday afternoon.
Braving the heavy rain youth transported the idols to their native places using trucks and other vehicles. The intermittent rains failed to dampen the festive spirit of the devotees.
Irrespective of age grou ps, people have participated in the celebrations. The youth and children have performed dances during the processions. The Ganesh idol in attire of traffic police at bus stand centre and the idol at Marwadi centre in the town were attracting huge number of visitors. Idols were also set up at famous temples in the district.
Security reviewed
Adilabad: District SP Gajarao Bhupal said that elaborate security arrangements were made for the Ganesh festival across the district. He reviewed the security arrangements with police officials at his office here on Saturday. He gave suggestions to police officials about security measures to be taken up for keeping law and order situation under control till the conclusion of Ganesh festival. He informed police officials to install closed circuit cameras at important towns like Adilabad, Nirmal, Bhainsa, Khanapur, Mudhol, Utnoor and Ichoda. He asked them to set up police pickets at important junctions and to intensify night patrolling. Police officials were also told to post two constables on duty at main Ganesh pandals. Gajarao Bhupal said that 1671 Ganesh pandals were installed across the district. He said that Ganesh shobha yatra would be held on September 6 in Bhainsa and on September 8 in Adilabad and Nirmal. One company of the CRPF was currently stationed in Bhainsa and local DSP would supervise law and order situation every day. He stated that police officials would be alerted based on intelligence inputs. District SP said that a special control room was set up at police camp office. He asked people to inform police if they come across any rumours. He sought cooperation of people as circle inspectors and sub inspectors would check vehicles every day.
