Warangal: The leaders of the Warangal district unit of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on Sunday demanded the state government to initiate immediate measures for filling up vacancies existing in various government departments.

Speaking at the district executive committee meeting here, the DYFI leaders recalled that TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao earlier promised that the jobless youth would be given employment after the TRS came to power.

But four months passed since the TRS government was formed in the new state of Telangana. But the government is yet to take any measures to fill up the vacancies in government departments. As a result the unemployed youth were disheartened, the leaders said.

Federation former state president S Vasudeva Reddy, district secretary D Tirupathi and city wing president Manda Sampath said that the youth in Telangana voted for the TRS hoping that the government led by the party would provide them government jobs.

Hence keeping the aspirations of the jobless youth in mind, the TRS government should immediately issue notifications to fill up the vacancies. Otherwise agitations would be taken up across the state, they warned. Referring to the issue of black money in the country, the federation leaders said the BJP government made tall claims on unearthing the black money stashed in foreign countries by Indian nationals. But so far no concrete steps were taken. Moreover, the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a volte-face on black-money issue saying that it might not be possible for the government to bring back the black-money or to reveal the names of the persons stocked up the money in foreign banks.

“This is nothing but deceiving people and the BJP has revealed its true colours,” said the DYFI leaders. Federation leaders Ravula Raju, Srinivas Naik, M Anil, Pittala Ravinder and others were present at the meeting.
