KCR mulls double pay for MLAs
Good news for the legislators. KCR seemed to b well set on the welfare of the legislators. Their salaries and allowances are soon to be doubled. MLAs and MLCs draw about Rs 95,000 per month each, Rs 12,500 as pay and Rs 82,500 as allowances.

The proposed figure by the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is Rs 2 lakh. Chief mInister seem to feel that t that the salaries and allowances were not in accordance with their expenditure.
“I want public representatives to work honestly. Then it is also necessary to see that they are adequately paid. Legislators are travelling in their own vehicles in their constituencies and coming to the Assembly. Being members in various committees, they are attending various programmes besides meetings in district headquarters and are incurring heavy expenditure. I think a salary hike is needed,” he said. Telangana has 120 MLAs and 40 MLCs. Of them, 36 members have Cabinet rank.
