TDP legislator alleges that TRS favored a realtor resulting in loss of Rs 1,000 crore of public money

Hyderabad: Telangana Telugu Desam (TDP) deputy floor leader A Revanth Reddy has demanded elaborate discussion in the ongoing session of Assembly on land irregularities by the TRS government to favour a realtor in Gachibowli. He warned of exploring legal options if discussion was not allowed in the House.

Revanth, who was suspended along with TDP MLAs for a week on November 13, turned up on Assembly premises on Monday. Accompanied by another TDP legislator S Venkata Veeriah, he met Speaker Madhusudana Chary and demanded discussion on land irregularities under rule 344 or else a short discussion since the matter was of public interest. Later he met floor leaders of all opposition parties and sought their support in this regard. He even gave them a booklet containing documents, GOs, notices and communication letters between government and various parties including DLF, Hyderabad Metro Rail etc.

Later speaking to the media, he alleged that Telangana stands to lose at least Rs 1,000 crore of public money through this favour of TRS government to ‘My Home’ owner Jupally Rameswar Rao in securing the land that was earlier allotted to Metro Rail, Gaming city and AP Transco.

He said due to his close association with Rameswar Rao, Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao even issued a GO to exempt a whopping Rs 26 crore stamp duty within 20 days after coming to power. The TD legislator said the proposal to exempt My Home from paying stamp duty was rejected by Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy but the same was cleared by KCR, he alleged.

Revanth dared the government to constitute a House Committee comprising all parties to unearth truth into this issue if it felt everything was right.
