Alumni meet at Markhazi School
A group of students of SSC 0f 1984 batch who studied at Markhazi Government High School in Hanamkonda organised alumni meet on Thursday.

Warangal: A group of students of SSC 0f 1984 batch who studied at Markhazi Government High School in Hanamkonda organised alumni meet on Thursday. More than 20 students of the batch gathered at the school to felicitate their teachers and donate furniture to the school. They raised a fund of Rs70,000 and presented furniture like 12 dual desks, two ceiling fans, tube lights and racks needed to the school.
The also felicitated their six retired teachers namely Veerabadraiah (Head Master), Pichaiah Sastry (Telugu), Sudarshan Rao (Social), Venkatram Narasaiah (Hindi), Jayaprada (Science) and Venkatanarsu (PET) with shawls.
Speaking on the occasion, one of the old students and a government teacher G Ramesh expressed pleasure over the alumni meet. ‘It is really good to meet our old friends at the school and meet our teachers’ he said.
P Mallikarjun, K Surender Reddy, Venkanna, V Prasad, Santhosh Kumar, Shyam Prasad, Surender Reddy, Girish, V Gopal, T Anand, DLN Sastry, Dayanand, Ravi Kumar, B Srinivas, and others were present.
Retired teacher Jayaprada gave Rs 5,000 as corpus fund to the school for instituting prize for students securing first rank in SSC from this academic year.
Three other teachers Veerabadraiah, Sudharshan Rao and Pichaiah Sastry announced that they would institute a prize worth Rs 5116 each for students excelling in SSC examinations. Several other students too attended.
