Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday paid rich tributes to former minister P Janardhan Reddy on his death anniversary. The Chief Minister garlanded the statue of PJR at Khairatabad Crossroads here on the occasion.

Later, he said PJR was noted for offering selfless services for the uplift of the poor and working class. PJR was noted for striving hard for the cause of labour community and helped them get shelter and work, he said.

Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya also offered tributes to PJR. Dattatreya said the former labour minister tried his best to address the needs of workers, and development of slums in twin cities and the undivided State.

Former MLA P Vishnuvardhan Reddy and son of P Janardhan Reddy said he would remain in the Congress despite any odds and problems.

After paying floral tributes to the departed leader, Vishnu said he would not switch loyalties to any other party. “I will continue to be a soldier of the Congress despite having some disputes and issues. The Congress is our parent party and is known for its commitment for the welfare of the working class, labourers, the poor and deprived sections across the nation,” he said. It may be noted that his remarks came at a time when the Congress leadership reprimanded him for a tussle with Kalwakurthy MLA Vamshichand Reddy on December 12. Vishnu after allegedly assaulting Vamshi got an anticipatory bail from the court preventing the police who are planning to arrest him.
