Temples in the district on Thursday teemed with thousands of devotees on the occasion of auspicious Mukkoti Ekadashi and New Year. Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta and Mattampally and other temples in the district wore festive look and saw a steady stream of devotees from across the state until the late evening.

Nalgonda: Temples in the district on Thursday teemed with thousands of devotees on the occasion of auspicious Mukkoti Ekadashi and New Year. Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta and Mattampally and other temples in the district wore festive look and saw a steady stream of devotees from across the state until the late evening.

Heavy rush of devotees was witnessed at this temple from the wee hours of Thursday. Long queue for darshan at the Yadagirigutta hill shrine was seen. Uttara Dwara Darshanam at Rajagopuram was also provided to the devotees from 6.49 am to 7.30 am. The priests of temples performed special pujas to the temple deity on the occasion of the auspicious day. In addition to this, athi sreegradarshan was also provided to VIPs and devotees in three phases that is from 9 am to 10am, from 11 am to 12 noon and from 3 pm to 4 pm.

Sri Yadagiri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple witnessed heavy rush of devotees

Large number of devotees took holy dip in the Koneru, which is located on the hill shrine, on the occasion of auspicious day. The temple authorities have opened six laddu counters for the sale of prasadam and kept ready 60,000 laddu’s to meet the demand. Long queues were also witnessed at these counters.

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) plied special buses to Yadagirigutta from various places in the State for the convenience of the devotees. Traffic restrictions were imposed on movement of four wheeler vehicles on Ghat road. The district police made elaborate security arrangements on hill shrine and deputed 160 policemen at Yadagirigutta town. Bhongir Deputy Suparintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Reddy supervised the security arrangements.

Large number of devotees thronged to Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy temple at Ramagiri in Nalgonda town. Women devotees performed Kolatam on the occasion. Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had darshan of the deity of the temple by standing in a long queue as a common man.
