Hyderabad: Telangana Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy inaugurated the State Youth Festival, which is being organised by the Department of Youth Services at Sampradaya Vedika in Shilparamam here on Friday. Advisor to Telangana government K V Ramanachary, Serilingampally MLA Arikepudi Gandhi, International Table Tennis Player Naina Jaiswal, Youth Services Secretary Lav Agarwal and other officials participated in the function. Around 650 participants all over the Telangana State attended the function to take part in different events.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahender Reddy wished all the participants a success and since it’s the first time the Telangana State was representing at National Youth Festival all the participants were requested to exhibit their talents and bring glory to the State. The other dignitaries on the dais extended their wishes to the participants.

Lav Agarwal hoped that the 1st prize winners of State-level would bag a good number of prizes at National level. In the afternoon session, competitions were started at four different venues in Shilparamam. The events including Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Manipuri and Odissi were held at Sampradaya Vedika. Similarly, Tabla, Harmonium, Veena, Sitar, Guitar, Flute, Mridangam and Violin were held at Shilpa Sandhya Vedika. While Folk Song (Group) and Folk Dance (Group) were conducted at Samskrutika Vedika, Elocution (English/ Hindi/Telugu), Essay writing, Quiz, Group Discussions and Painting competitions were conducted at Craft Training Centre.
