Warangal: The Warangal branch of Buddhist Society of India on Saturday urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who is in town on a three-day visit, to allocate an acre of land for construction of Buddha Vihar. The Society members said that earlier they had urged the district administration for the allocation of an acre of land in the city. The authorities, who agreed in principle to allocate the land initially, changed their decision for some unknown reasons.

Stating that the Society, which was established in 1979, had been actively organising programmes in the district, the members urged the Chief Minister to intervene in the matter. Later, they submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Chief Minister. Society president M Vishweshwar Rao, general secretary P Krishnaswamy and Chief Advisor Bommala Kattaiah were among those who met K Chandrashekar Rao.
