Hyderabad: Dark clouds of doubts are simmering around the pre poll promise of KG to PG free education. The TRS’ much-touted poll promise is observed nowhere in the near implementation.

According to some sources, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will discuss the best approach to the scheme with some academics and experts by conducting a meeting month.

On the other hand projections are being drawn that the plan will not enter the implementation stage till 2016-17 academic year.

Education minister G. Jagdish Reddy also met with Chief Minister and discussed the implementation of the scheme. He also said that a final decision on Eamcet will be taken in two to three days and that He also said a decision on the modalities of implementation of the KG to PG free education scheme will be taken in the symposium on January 27.

A senior official said, “There are six to seven types of schools in each district like model schools, open schools, residential schools etc. We have to discuss in details how to materialize the scheme in these schools. So far it is in a very nascent stage.”
