The Election Commissioner of India has conferred upon Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand, the “National Special Award” for the “Best Electoral Practices 2014”. After an exhaustive exercise by the Election Commissioner of India (ECI), the award was conferred on Anand for effective monitoring of election expenses and cash seizures.

Hyderabad: The Election Commissioner of India has conferred upon Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand, the “National Special Award” for the “Best Electoral Practices 2014”. After an exhaustive exercise by the Election Commissioner of India (ECI), the award was conferred on Anand for effective monitoring of election expenses and cash seizures.

This is a great honour for an officer from the newly-created State of Telangana to get this award. The Cyberabad Police Commissionerate had the highest cash seizures in the country in the run up to the Election on April 30, 2014 of Rs 21.97 crore and also the single largest cash seizure of Rs 8.33 crore in the country in its drive to control election expenditure. The ECI has invited Anand to a felicitation function at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on January 25 on the occasion of National Voter’s Day to receive the award.
