Hyderabad: The State cabinet on Friday gave its nod for the construction of new Secretariat for Telangana State at Erragadda here. It will come in the area of the existing TN and Chest Hospital which will be shifted to Viakarabad. Briefing the media after a marathon 7-hour cabinet meeting, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said the designs of the new secretariat building would be ready in next 20 days and once the designs were finalized, he would lay the foundation stone for the building.

Rao said an amount of Rs 150 crore had been sanctioned for the purpose. The Chief Minister informed that the offices of all Heads of the Departments would also be shifted to the new premises. The existing hospital would be shifted in the next few days.

The cabinet also gave its nod for giving a donation of Rs 5 crore to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam as a thanksgiving for formation of Telangana. Similarly, Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned for construction of Hyderabad House in Ajmer in Rajasthan for the benefit of pilgrims visiting the Dargah of Hazarth Khaja Ghareeb Nawaz.

The Wakf Board has been sanctioned Rs 2.50 lakh for preparation of a 'Chader' which the Chief Minister himself will present at Ajmer Dargah. The Chief Minister also announced that the Cabinet okayed Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation and a Police Commissionerate in Warangal.

The other major decisions include modernisation of Rythu Bazars and fish markets across the State. Similarly, Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned for construction of Hyderabad House in Ajmer in Rajasthan for the benefit of pilgrims.
