Hyderabad: The revamping of the TRS politburo appears to be on the cards. As Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is unable to devote enough time for party affairs as he is preoccupied with administration, speculations are rife that the party will have a working president.

An announcement to this effect is expected to be made at the extended executive committee meeting to be held at the RD Convention Centre, Kompally, from 11 am on Tuesday. According to party sources, Irrigation minister T Harish Rao and KCR’s son K T Rama Rao are said to be in the race for the post of working president.

It is said that KTR is being seen as the most likely choice for the coveted post. Interestingly, KTR will not be present at the meeting as he is leaving for Mumbai to participate in a meeting organised by the Tata group. Close to four thousand delegates from all the 119 constituencies will be attending this meet.

Besides Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, ministers, MLAs, MLCs, district presidents and constituency incharges; nearly 30 leaders from each constituency including Mayors, MPTCs, ZPTCs were extended invitations. The meeting will discuss on revamping of polit-bureau and state committees as well as the membership drive.

TRS is planning to kick start this drive from February third week and complete election of village, mandal and district committees within two months. Interestingly Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, IT Minister K Tarakarama Rao and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao were never seen together on a public platform in the last seven months since TRS assumed power.
