Hyderabad: Justice MS Ramachander Rao of the High Court at Hyderabad adjourned by two weeks two election petitions in which the Election Commission filed applications to be deleted from the array of parties. While in one election petition Rajarapu Pratap an independent candidate questioned the elections of Thatikonda Rajaiah from 99 Ghanpur SC Assembly constituency in Warangal district the other is filed by K Naresh of the Shiv Sena party seeking to set aside the elections of Kalvakuntla Vidyasagar Rao (TRS) from the Korutla constituency in Karimnagar district. In his election petition against sitting MLA T Rajaiah the petitioner contended that his nomination was wrongly rejected by the Returning Officer on an objection taken by the successful candidate. The objection was that of the ten persons required to propose the name of the candidate. The names of some of the proposers were not reflected in the voters list and therefore were not eligible to propose his name, the petition said.

In the second petition it is contended by the petitioner that instead of allotting him the party symbol of Shiv Sena he was wrongly allotted the symbol of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and this materially affected the result of the election and therefore it should be set aside.
