Seeking to establish an airport in Kothagudem, the Parliamentary Secretary (CMO) Jalagam Venkata Rao met the Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju in New Delhi on Monday. According to an official release, Rao urged the Union Minister to look into the issue of setting up an airport, a long-standing wish of the people, in the coal town.

Khammam: Seeking to establish an airport in Kothagudem, the Parliamentary Secretary (CMO) Jalagam Venkata Rao met the Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju in New Delhi on Monday. According to an official release, Rao urged the Union Minister to look into the issue of setting up an airport, a long-standing wish of the people, in the coal town.

It may be mentioned here that the State government had already wrote a letter to the Union Minister in this regard. Stating that the issue was under consideration, Ashok Gajapathi Raju advised Rao to send required details whenever his ministry asks for them. “After verifying the possibilities, the ministry will send a team to undertake a feasibility study,” the Union Minister said. Later, Rao also met the Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu along with the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s entourage.
