Speaking to media persons on the Assembly premises here on Friday, Ponguleti ridiculed Naidu’s speech delivered in Warangal stating that he equally loved Telangana State. If Naidu was sincere, then he should return seven mandals of Khammam, which were merged with Andhra Pradesh for Polavaram project, he said.
The MLC further asked Naidu to issue a white paper on Andhra Pradesh’s attitude on sharing of power and water with Telangana State. Ponguleti alleged that a day after delivering a speech in Warangal, Chandrababu Naidu created a ‘war-like’ situation near Nagarjuna Sagar. He said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government in Andhra Pradesh was trying to deprive Khammam and Nalgonda districts of their share in waters from Nagarjuna Sagar. He accused the TDP chief of creating enmity between the Telugu-speaking people.
