Deccan Chronicle Holdings Limited (DCHL) chairman T Venkattram Reddy and his brother and vice-chairman T Vinayak Ravi Reddy who were arrested on Saturday by Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) officials in a bank fraud case, were lodged in the Chanchalguda prison after the judge remanded them in judicial custody for 14 days.

The CBI officials will produce the duo in the CBI court in Bengaluru after obtaining a prisoner transit (PT) warrant. The Canara Bank, which was among the key state-owned lenders to the media house, lodged a complaint with the CBI in July 2013 charging that the DCHL promoters defrauded the bank.

Since the Canara Bank head office is located in Bengaluru and the complaint was lodged there, the Karnataka unit of the CBI carried out the arrest.
