Guidelines issued for Telangana Seed Bowl project
Telangana government, which set its eyes on transforming the state into a seed bowl, has decided to accord top priority for production of Soyabean seed, developing specialised processing units and storage godowns. It may be mentioned here that the government had allocated Rs 50 crore towards strengthening of seed production chain and development of infrastructure
Hyderabad: Telangana government, which set its eyes on transforming the state into a seed bowl, has decided to accord top priority for production of Soyabean seed, developing specialised processing units and storage godowns. It may be mentioned here that the government had allocated Rs 50 crore towards strengthening of seed production chain and development of infrastructure for implementation of seed production plan, promotion and multiplication of new varieties.
In continuation of this, government released a GO approving the project and guidelines on Wednesday. According to it, the entire amount allocated under the scheme is proposed towards development of infrastructure facilities as suggested by the Research Institutions and Seed Producing Agencies. All of them should plan for production of Green manure seed such as Dhaincha, Sunhemp and Pillipesara within the state.
