Shivaji’s birth anniversary celebrated

Sangareddy (Medak): Activists of Bajrang Dal and other organisations took out a rally here on Thursday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. Youth participated in a bike rally holding lats (bamboo sticks) and shouted slogans ‘Jai Bharat Mata’ and waved saffron flags. They followed a Rath which carried the activists. A tense situation prevailed for a brief while when the rally came near a mosque. Sloganeering by Bajrang Dal activists and prayers at the mosque were heard simultaneously. The police took all precautionary measures to ensure that the rally passed off in a peaceful atmosphere. A statue of Shivaji was inaugurated earlier during the day at the bypass road.
