IP MARKETS an IPR Law firm in association with University College of Law, Osmania University, one of the oldest law colleges in the country is organizing a National IPR Moot Court Competition -2015 from 20th Feb-2015 to 22nd Feb-2015. This competition is unique in the country and being done for the first time in the South India. There are about six cash awards ranging from Rs.25,000/- for the Best Team, Runners up Team, Best Male Advocate, Best Female Advocate, Best Memorial and Best Researcher prizes are being awarded to the winners.

IP Markets, is a 100% techno legal IP firm dealing exclusively with issues relating to IPR for its various clients. Though a fledgling firm with only one and half years of existence, the experience of its partners saw the firm handle some of the best IP litigations across the country. The Firm has also a record of having secured a contested decree in Vijayawada, within a matter of 6 to 7 months. The firm is in the process of recognized as the fastest growing firm in the country. This is one of the reason why IP Markets thought of organizing an IPR moot in order to propagate the awareness of intellectual property among students and advocates.

IP Markets put forth this idea of conducting Moot Court competition in association with University College of Law, Osmania University to which the principal of the college readily agreed since there is a greater demand for awareness in IPR among student community and lawyers. University College of law, Osmania University is one of the oldest law colleges in the country that has produced eminent lawyers, politicians, civil services officers, professors and Doctorates.

IP Markets is organizing the 1st IP Markets National Moot Court Competition-2015 in association with College of Law, Osmania University from 20th-22nd February, 2015 at the Osmania University Center for International Programs, in OU Campus.

Objective:- The objective in conducting this Moot Court Competition is to create awareness on IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) – Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks and Design rights among law students and lawyers and thereby educating the industry as such.

Mr.Vijay Kumar M and Mr.Ashok Ram Kumar Partners for the firm said that this competition will provide the students an experience of real time situations and make them understand court room proceedings. Further more specifically make them learn Intellectual property Rights law which is considered as western law. This competition being held in Hyderabad also allows the local lawyers and students in the city to participate in the event and understand the concepts.

Prof Mohan Krishna Spoke about M/s. IP Markets Law firm and its standing in the in the field of Litigation. He also mentioned that the Firm has trained number of law students and give very good opportunity of learning under the Internship programmes. Mr. Mohan Krishna also spoke about the importance of mooting for Law students and how mooting would help law students learn the court procedures and mannerism which is very much essential when the students enter the profession. He congratulated IP Markets for conducting the competition focusing on an important subject of IPR.

National Moot Court Competition was inaugurated by Mr.N. Ramchander Rao, Senior Advocate and Bar Council member in his address to the august gathering mentioned the importance of Moot Court competition for the Law Students. He mentioned that he was happy that IP Markets in Association with University College of Law was conducting this three day event. He stressed that IPR is an evolving subject and there are number of Litigations arising in the field and hence students should look at taking up IP litigations in their profession. He wanted the participants to give their best and take part in the event in competitive spirit.

This competition has participants coming from several law schools from various parts of the country i.e., Delhi, Dehradun, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Bhopal, Chennai, Vijayawada, Hyderabad (Complete list of participating colleges is enclosed). A moot court competition in the area of intellectual property gives students the opportunity to explore this particular area of study beyond the prescribed curriculum.The competition is a three day affair and is going to be adjudged by a team of judges comprising of some of the best lawyers in the field of intellectual property.

On Feb 22nd: The event constitute preliminary rounds of competition involving where more than 30 teams are participating. Eight teams out of 30 teams will enter quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. The final would be held at Prof. Ram Reddy Distance Education Auditorium from 2.30 pm onwards on 22nd Feb-2015 and will be adjudged by the
